hoping your kid is around 5 years age, i expect him around 13 Kg in weight. Frequency of 6-7 episodes of loose stools at this age can easily precipitate dehydration. Large quantity stools can easily precipitate dehydration, many times watery stools look large as water spreads along cloth, unless it is in watery purges we may not call it copious motions. Copious motions is medical emergency and child may require hospitalsiation and IV fluids, which may be associated with lethargy, sunken eyes, reduced urine output etc.
Aim in managing dehydration is to fill up the water loss or scintifically speaking saline loss from body.. that means body loses water sodium potassium etc from body into the gut. A good way to rehydrate your child is using an ORS. ORS is oral rehydrating solution. You may find its details at www.rehydrate.org Its an highly informative site on diarrhoea and its management.
colour dark green sometimes brown
===== usually the colour of secretion of small intestines is dark green or bilious. So if the motions are due to disturbances of small intestine, commonly infections caused by viruses like rotavirus or protozoa like giardia and bacteria like E. coli will give such colour to watery motion. If it is foul smelling in addition, it may require some medicines like Cotrimoxazole, metronidazole etc depending on your doctor's judgement of the case.
little blood & mucus also
Presence of mucus and blood in stool is called dysentery. So your kid is suffering from dysentery. It is usually caused by bacteria or protozoa like ameba or giardia. It can really be a serious case if the conditiond oesnt resolve or get tretaed promptly. Some noninfective conditions like intussusception may cause such conditition, but this rare condition appears unlikely in your case.
we give only dal rice, khichdi and marie biscuit now
======= good intake is a sign of disease in control. intake should be maintained and water content should be increased in diet. addition of curds, sago and complex sugars and fibres helps avoid complications.
doc are just giving med thats all.
======== ORS/fluids and if required medicines usually take 3-14 days to curtail an episode of diarrhoea. If the episodes last more than 14 days, he may require extra evaluation or tests for stool.
After eating medicine he recover little again after two day he starts same as before pls help me
===== as it appears that your kid si suffering from dysentery, he may require some antibiotics for a longer phase and may require change of meds, but all will be decided by the doctor who examines the child and his stool reports.
