our 3 year old drinks about 120 ounces a day or about 2 litres of milk if we let him. we try to control it abit but he gets upset, whatever we will give him, he prefers milk, but will take juice or water. is this normal? it seems excessive. he even replaces food with drink. pls advise
answer:
its not an healthy habit. that will cause problems of bone growth and also growth of various sytems.
The habit needs to be broken. first by avoiding bottle.
second by giving milk like articles like soy milk, milk shakes,
third by mixing other edibles (potato, rice, banana) with milk and then gradually decreasing the quantity of milk.
keep other non milk dietary items handy, on ground accessible to him, and keep milk at relatively inaccessible place.
